| Snack Game: Listen
Hunt/Cheerio Bingo Before class:
|
-
| Put some cheerios into a container and
hide it somewhere in the room.
Tell the class:
-
Today we're learning that Jesus
wants us to be good listeners so we're going to play a listening game.
-
There is something hidden in the room
that you have to find.
-
They are going to have to listen
carefully as you give them verbal clues to find it.
-
Proceed to give them a variety of
verbal clues such as:
-
Whispering a clue,
-
Whispering a clue to the first child, who
has to whisper it to the next, etc.
-
Saying a clue with funny accent,
-
etc.
-
After they find the cereal give each
child:
-
a bingo card,
-
some cheerios, and
-
play bingo with them:
-
tell them that you are going to give them
letters that spell a secret message.
-
Randomly give them the letters for the
word, "listen"
-
Once they get "bingo":
-
they should all get Bingo at the same time,
-
| ask them what the secret message is.

| Telling the Story: Bring the story mat, the Christ figure, the women figures and blocks to the story
circle, but don't set them up.
|
-
We're going to do to something
different today.
-
I'm going to read a story from the
Bible to you.
-
I want you to listen carefully because
when I'm done, I want you to tell me the story and act it out with the Bible mat and the
Bible figures.
-
Read the story from Luke 10: 38-42 to
the children.
-
| Help them set up the story and act it
out with the figures as they retell it to you.
